For this I task I inserted text onto my workspace and wrote my name "ZIA". after that I went on the Internet and gathered a few background images

 The original font was called Myriad Pro when I set up Illustrator. However this is easily changed by going to the control panel when the text is selected.

After I've placed the text on the A4 I selected all the text and changed the font to Baskerville.

After I changed the font I  went to the area type options to change the number of columns.

Jan Tschichold's Layout

We set up a symmetrical grid based on Jan Tschichold's layout; we opened a new sheet of paper in illustrator with the size A4  in the portrait format. after I did this I placed in diagonal lines across the both papers and created the shape above. after I did this I opened the ruler set up and put in the y axis as shown above. after tht i placed in two boxers to show how textbook layouts are created.
